Creekside's Annual Learn-to Fly-Fish Youth Camp Poor House Farm Regional Park, Berkeley County, WV. Registration is now open for this eagerly anticipated event. Quincy Adams is the Camp Coordinator. Bill Zinner is the Registrar - contact him if you wish to sign someone up. A sponsor has stepped forward with a generous offer of $500 to help support this event! Martins will provide the lunch and Parks and Recreation has again offered us the use of the barn and lake. We continue to work with WVDNR to secure a net and stocked fish. Activities will include introductions to fly-tying, fly casting, essential knots, entomology (bugs) and fishing. Instructors for each activity are very experienced fisherpersons eager to share their knowledge and encourage newcomers to the sport. This is a friendly and supportive introduction for boys and girls to a lifetime of fishing enjoyment. Participants must be between 10 and 15 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. A separate, parallel program for interested adults will be offered. Registration starts at 8:30 AM. Coffee, juice and snacks will be available. Camp gets underway at 9:00 AM Lunch is served from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Fishing from 1:00 to about 3:30 PM Each participant will receive a certificate and a box of custom tied flies to take home. The Youth Camp is free. Donations of $25 per student are welcome.
